No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t gain weight. I spent several hundred dollars on powders and supplements from GNC. I did the same exercises week after week, but never paid attention to sets or reps. I didn’t eat the necessary foods to support my goals. Let’s face it, as delicious as foods like Mac & Cheese and Pizza Rolls are, they’re not the most conducive foods for building muscle.

Outwardly I was into punk rock, skateboarding, playing bass in my band, watching the Yankees, hanging out with friends, and well, anything that didn’t have to deal with the weight room.

For the longest time, fitness was never really my thing.

Secretly, I had a weight bench and some dumbbells in my mom’s bedroom. I thought in order to be a “real man” you needed to weigh at least 175lbs and have muscle. That was a far cry from the 135lbs frame I had which consisted mostly of skin, bone, and organs.

I had no idea what I was doing.

Fast forward to my post-college life (nothing really exciting happened here). I moved to Washington DC, started selling craft beer for breweries like Sixpoint and Bell’s, and built a nice little seven year career in it. That weight I could never gain? Yeahhhhh it packed itself on in a big way. 70lbs of fat to be exact. This was NOT the kind of weight gain I was hoping to achieve.

That was me.

I could barely walk from bar to bar without becoming a winded, gross, sweaty mess.

My confidence plummeted.

I was always lethargic and irritable.

My form of exercise?
Aside from 16oz curls, it was lifting my arm every now and then to let Netflix know I was still watching.

That was me, too.

I knew I needed to change, though. The question was how.

I tried diets ranging from extreme calorie restriction to keto to Weight Watchers. I tried workouts such as HIIT, bodybuilding type splits, and personal training.

I felt like I had the pieces to the puzzle, but didn’t know how to put them together. After years of experimentation and lots of learning, I finally found the winning combination:

A flexible diet built on sustainable, long-term habits

Exercises that simultaneously build muscle and shred fat

I now use that same method to help people like you slim down your beer gut, rebuild that lost confidence, and crush it in every aspect of life.

The best part? I’ll help you do all of that without making you cut out your favorite foods or even better, beer! You’ll have to work hard, but I promise if you follow my guidance and put in the work you WILL become the best version of yourself.

I’ve only got one question left for you.

“Since working with Alex my clothes fit better and friends and family keep telling me I look great. I no longer need to take melatonin or biofreeze in order to sleep. Best of all, I’m doing things I’ve never been able to do before like burpees and flipping tires like a beast!”

-Katie D.

“It needs to be said that I ate A LOT of food throughout my 12 weeks with Alex. No starving myself or cutting out entire food groups. Alex made everything easy, achievable, and (most importantly) SUSTAINABLE.”

-Erin, who lost 9lbs in 12 weeks

“Some of the road blocks I find in healthy eating are in consistency and excuses. If I’m depressed I want comfort food, or I just don’t care enough to make the time to prep in the morning. Alex inspired me to try again today.”

-Dylan

“I loved Alex's workouts. I really got a sense of how to work my body in sections rather than all at once without feeling like I wasn’t going to get it all in. The work I did with Alex made me so much more confident lifting and being in the gym that ‘new year, strong me’ is basically my motto. He really helped me and He's a lot nicer than a lot of the other trainers I’ve seen!”
